Preowned Folding Machines

Long and short folders from Thalmann, Hayes and CIDAN

Second-hand long and short folding machines from Thalmann, Hayes, CIDAN and other makers. These are the machines fabricators trade up from when they move to a new double folder or automated line, so they were producing until recently and come with their tooling.

Each listing shows working length, capacity, controls, what is included, location, condition notes from the owner and the price ex GST. Freight and rigging are quoted separately.

Need a specific length or capacity? Tell us what you need and we will let you know when one comes up.

Key Features of
Preowned Folding Machines

  • Length and capacity

Working length and maximum thickness in mild steel, not the nameplate figure, which is usually for aluminium.

  • Beams and clamps

Look for wear or damage on the clamping and folding beams. Straightness is what you are paying for.

  • Controls and software

Check the control is still supported and whether the program library comes with the machine.

  • Tooling

Segmented tooling, radius tools and backgauge fingers add real value. Each listing says what is included.

  • Power and footprint

Voltage, phase and the clear floor space a long folder needs.

  • Removal

Long folders need a crane and a plan. Freight and rigging are at the buyer’s cost on every listing.

Maintenance and Reliability Program

Buying a second-hand machine does not mean inheriting someone else’s maintenance history. Every preowned machine we sell can go straight onto Total Reliability, our maintenance programme, so it is looked after the same way as a new line from day one.

Step 1.

Recommissioning check

When the machine lands, our technician sets it up, checks drives, hydraulics and safety circuits, and runs first product with your operators.

Step 2.

Baseline condition report

We log the machine on Total Reliability with a baseline inspection, so wear is tracked from the start rather than guessed at later.

Step 3.

Scheduled servicing

Routine inspections, oil sampling and critical spares planning on the same programme we run for new machines.
